To: (1) supervise the rigging of the pilot transfer arrangements and the embarkation of the pilot; (2) escort the pilot by a safe route to and from the navigation bridge; (3) ensure that personnel engaged in rigging and operating any mechanical equipment are instructed in the safe procedures to be adopted; and (4) ensure that the equipment is tested prior to use.
