Until 1 January 2017, seafarers who commenced training before 1 July 2013 may be issued with certificates in accordance with the provisions of STCW 95. By 1 January 2017 full compliance with the 2010 (Manila) Amendments must be achieved by all seafarers, including all seafarer medical fitness certificates. STCW 95 certificates will no longer be valid.
